This policy explains what information Merge Forest collects, how advertising works inside the app, and the choices you have. Merge Forest is a single‑player merge puzzle game with no user accounts and no backend server.
Merge Forest ("the app," "we," "us") is developed by Matan Cohen. The app has no login, no user profiles, and no server backend of its own — it doesn't ask you for your name, email, or any personal information at any point. The only outside connection the app makes is to Google's advertising network (AdMob), which is used to show rewarded and interstitial video ads. This policy covers both what happens on your device and what Google's ad SDK does when it serves an ad.
Merge Forest does not have accounts, sign‑in, chat, leaderboards, or any form that asks you to type in personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, or health data. We do not use analytics SDKs to track your behavior across sessions.
The app saves a small amount of gameplay data locally on your device only, using Apple's standard on‑device storage (UserDefaults). This never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or to any server:
Deleting the app deletes this data. We have no copy of it anywhere.
Merge Forest shows two kinds of ads through Google's AdMob SDK: a rewarded video (to continue a run or double your score) and an occasional interstitial ad between runs. AdMob is operated by Google LLC, and when it requests and displays an ad it may collect technical and device information on Google's behalf, such as:
We don't control what Google does with this data beyond configuring the ad units themselves. Google's own policies govern that processing:
The first time you open Merge Forest, iOS shows you Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, asking whether the app can use your device's advertising identifier to show you more relevant ads.
Merge Forest is directed at a general audience and is not designed for, or knowingly directed at, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad requests from this app are not tagged for child‑directed treatment. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 13 and we will address it.
Merge Forest does not currently offer any functioning in‑app purchases. If purchases (such as an ad‑removal option) are introduced in a future update, they will be processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we do not collect or store any payment card information.
Because gameplay data lives only in local device storage, deleting the app deletes it. There is nothing stored on our side to separately delete. For anything Google's AdMob SDK collects, refer to Google's own retention and deletion controls, including Google's Ad Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because Merge Forest itself holds no personal information about you, most of these requests are best directed at Google for anything processed through AdMob. For anything relating to the app itself, contact us using the details below.
Since gameplay data never leaves your device, it's protected by the same security as the rest of your iOS device (device passcode, encryption at rest, etc.). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a new feature that changes what data is collected — we'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. We encourage checking back occasionally if you have concerns.
